window pane DIY...


Back when we were on the hunt to put something above the fireplace, we got the idea to hang this beautiful old church window (given to us by a friend, Heather)....although beautiful by itself, we wanted add a little "something" so J and I decided to add a bit of sentimental value by writing down the lyrics to our wedding song ("The Luckiest" by Ben Folds).  

The entire project cost $82.99...$80 for the window and $2.99 for a new sharpie pen (there's little better in life than the feeling of a new sharpie pen...am I right ladies?).  We got my talented friend Amy S. to lend her talents for a hand-writer (the cute and clean hand-writing is exactly what we needed) and waalaah!  Compete.
 
We added 4 heavy-duty picture hangers to the back (we already owned) and up it went.  It is housed in a hallway that is walked through a lot, and the charming window is a great conversation-starter.  Here are some more pictures:
