a weekend away...

Jeremiah and I were lucky enough to sneak out of Portland this weekend for some fun and sun in Bend, Oregon.  Our kiddos stayed back at home with their 2 favorite people (Hannah and Justin who get married in 20 days!) and we drove south Friday morning and didn't get home until Sunday night.  AKA: awesomeness.

Bend is only 3 hours south of Portland and is a great town filled with great restaurants, sights, golfing, festivals, and plenty of places to sit and relax.

Friday was some driving, and then spending the morning at the festival in the quaint town "Three Sisters" which is named that because it is centered in the middle of 3 mountains.  J went golfing and I headed back to our river-front hotel for a much needed nap.  This is the view behind our room:

Friday night was spent eating out at our favorite restaurant that we visit each year, The Pine Tavern, and simply relaxing.  Saturday morning J left bright and early for the golf course while I went wading in the freezing river water (1st picture) and it was very therapeutic!  I have never done something like that, but it was both exhilarating and calming at the same time.  I spent the remainder of my morning river-side-drinking (a tasty Blood Orange margarita) and catching up on my book.

Saturday night we went out for Tai food and hung-out shopping in downtown Bend and visiting all the artist booths for the festival.  We even bought an original print for above our bed!  Can't wait for it to get shipped!

Sunday was spent checking out all the sights between Bend and Portland including the falls and nature trails on the way to home-sweet-home.

We hope that you had a restful weekend too!

Best wishes,
Lindsay "Ladybird" & Jeremiah "Fellow"!
