Paetyn's room...

A few months ago when we did the kiddo "switcharoo" for their rooms, Maddux definitely got the better end of the deal.  He got a new wicked bed (made from a dresser) a beautiful gray color for his walls, a bookcase that holds cars, and a comfy chair.

What did Paetyn get?  Nothing.  Nada.  Zip.  Zilch.  She moved into a room made for a boy with blue walls, striped flooring (which is really cool) and a more awkward space.  She didn't seem to mind and never uttered a word of disappointment, however we have been drummin up some ideas that are now finally coming into play for our almost-5-year-old's room.  Above is her new curtains (the floral fabric) and I found this great paper to dress up this old dresser (you can also see a little bit of the striped flooring).

She is also getting some great new "built-in" shelving and the wood came from our old garden beds that we ripped out when we re-did the backyard.

We also tested out a great Martha Stewart wall color that will work nicely and some other fun projects going on in the space.  Some cool DIY art, as well as some well-loved thrift finds, and a cool mirror that will have a perfect spot in P's hideaway.  I have a nice 5-day-weekend next week so I am hoping to get everything wrapped up and share some pictures.

Hope you all had a great weekend!
